In the world of corporate finance, the successful conclusion of a major deal involving several parties is sometimes marked with the presentation of tombstones to key players involved. You can imagine that some CEOs and Bankers have quite a collection. Recently, Barclays Bank got in touch with EFX to commission a bespoke tombstone; the design had to appeal to the CEO of a Swedish healthcare company who loves surfing.
The resulting surfboard design is made from wood, digitally colour printed and then mounted on a nickel plated plinth. It was presented to the team members at a private dinner. Evidently, the CEO concerned commented he does not particularly like having tombstones around in his office, but that the surfboard was going to sit on his desk. Success!
