Vivid Splat Proves Winner at Elgin’s Youth Awards
Elgin’s Youth Development Group provides a vibrant hub of activities and support for local youngsters. The charity recently contacted Special EFX looking for suitably personal and yet distinctive trophies for its planned Awards. The resulting ‘splat’ trophies feature the centre’s Inkwell logo reproduced in a bold rainbow of colours. Exuding strong branding and impact, they far exceeded the organisers’ expectations.
A spokesperson for the Awards was elated with the trophies Special EFX created. “All I can say is the awards are amazing and 100% better than we had imagined. They are just what we were looking for without knowing it. The service was above and beyond, nothing was a hassle for Shelley and to work with our very short turnaround time, we are very thankful for all the support and product. I am involved in a number of groups and if we ever need anything in the future I will be in touch!”
Colourful graphics add appeal for youth awards
To achieve the colourful graphics on each trophy Special EFX selected acrylic for the base material, digitally printing the ink splat in order to achieve the required fusion of colours. The acrylic motif is slotted into a brushed nickel plated aluminium plinth, each one individually engraved with the winner’s details.
Dedicated local youth workers and volunteers create a dynamic team that runs a diverse range of term and holiday programmes from the youth centre. On Saturday 8th June a special awards ceremony was hosted by the Elgin Youth Development Group to say ‘thank you’ to all those involved and highlight a few outstanding contributions. Amongst those receiving one of the unique trophies and given particular recognition on the night were June McArthur, described as kind, patient and always willing to offer a helpful hand, who was selected by youngsters for The Youth Choice Award, and Emily Burns, who was presented with The Community Champion Award for her contribution to endless youth events.
