Skoda Fabia Wins Ultimate What Car? Accolade
What Car? Magazine has been published by Haymarket since 1973 and is hugely popular and influential amongst the car-loving public. Its reach and clout in the marketplace is legendary, as is the What Car? Car of the Year Awards. Whoever is presented with the ultimate Car of the Year trophy, at the annual Awards, knows they are guaranteed a best seller. This year, the Awards were held January 7th and once again the famous red question mark trophies were manufactured by Special EFX for the event.
Winners on the night included the Skoda Octavia (Best Family Car), the Mercedes Benz S-Class (Best Luxury Car), and the Honda HR-V (Reader’s Award). However, it was the Skoda Fabia which took the ultimate accolade of What Car? Car of the Year. Skoda has waited 15 years to take the top spot, having last won it back in 2000. The marketing value of the bold red acrylic question mark, mounted on a polished, engraved plinth is countless millions of pounds!
Wendy Stonebridge, Head of Events at Haymarket Media Group commissioned the trophies. She attributes What Car?’s long working relationship with EFX to: “The unique working relationship we have with the EFX team − the quality and service is simply the best”.
