Laughter For A Cause At The National Comedy Awards

A jampacked and buzzing Camden Roundhouse hosted an audience full of the best in UK comedy, industry figures and fans, all to enjoy the first of many National Comedy Awards for Stand Up to Cancer. This debut event brought the very best-loved comedy icons together in one room to celebrate the incredible work of the comedy world while also standing up to raise money for life-saving research.

With a focus on live shows, emerging podcast talent, and all of the most popular in scripted and unscripted comedy. Special prizes were also given to Sharon Horgan and Billy Connolly recognising their exciting careers to date and voted for by industry peers. The biggest winner of the night was the incredibly popular Netflix comedy Sex Education, with awards won in four categories! These winners were voted for by the public online so each winner was a guaranteed fan favourite.

The awards ceremony notably honoured the late and great Sean Lock, making it an exceptionally memorable evening for all. The producer said of the uplifting feel in the room – ‘The event was a huge success and after the past two years we’ve had, to have a room packed full of famous faces to celebrate the world of comedy was magnificent, the atmosphere was incredible!’ This exuberant atmosphere transported through our tv screens to the thousands as it aired on Channel 4.

Stand Out Award For Stand Up

The coveted trophies were created in a mixed finish brushed, polished and printed 24ct gold plated aluminium with a stand out ‘COMEDY’ emblazoned on the front. A weighty size for the winners, featuring the ever popular ring design to hold up in elation when winning. The client was also elated with their finished awards – ‘EFX were beyond helpful in the process of creating our brilliant Trophies, we are super happy with the finished product. We can’t wait to work with EFX again in the future!’
