Debuting A New Vibrant Design For Standard Chartered Trophy

Playing at the newly opened Kai Tak Stadium, Hong Kong on Saturday 26th July, Liverpool FC faced the Series A side AC Milan in front of a crowd of nearly 50,000 spectators in hopes to win the Standard Chartered Trophy.
Standard Chartered are long standing sponsors/supporters of Liverpool FC – since July 2010. As part of its association with the club, Standard Chartered has also provided dedicated support for the women’s team, delivered a range of digital activations for supporters, teamed up with LFC to host fan events across the world, and much more.
Although AC Milan took the win after an intense game, this match marked the first leg of the Red’s tour around Asia this summer. This game was also a memorable one with a number of tributes taking place in honour of Diogo Jota, the late Reds player, and Andre Silva. Liverpool’s squad also wore special jerseys etched with a poignant commemoration of Diogo. In the 20th minute of the game, fans inside Kai Tak Stadium joined together in applause. A poignant moment for everyone attending.
While in Asia, the club also took part in a number of key local community projects and cultural activities, as well as hosting a number of supporter events with club legends.
Manager Arne Slot had this to say on game day about the support Liverpool have received in Hong Kong… “Everywhere we go we feel so much support and love from the fans. That was here today, but it was already two days ago when we trained in the stadium… I don’t think many clubs train in stadiums where 25,000 people are watching a training session. It tells you something about the club, but also about our fans. We are really happy to be here because it is for the new players also nice to see what this club means in the world, not only at Anfield but in the world.”
With pre-season friendly against Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan setting a new attendance record with 67,032 supporters present, here at EFX we are so proud to have created such a striking design for such a big global stage. Also considering EFX’s account handler has always been an avid fan of Liverpool FC, it adds another layer of excitement to this brief.
Keeping Design Standards High
The Standard Chartered trophy has had a colourful revamp this year with digitally printed green & blue onto a five part layered top of polished high shine nickel plated solid aluminium. This whopping trophy measures in at 500mm tall!
