CIWM Demonstrates How to Use Awards for Brand Endorsement

There are significant opportunities at an awards ceremony to endorse a brand’s positioning and promote its values. The trophies are a particularly visual means to do this as they are the centre of attention for the climax of the event. An excellent, recent example of this was the annual CIWM Awards (The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management), which celebrate the achievements, innovation and outstanding contributions in the industry. The event took place at the Grosvenor Square Marriott Hotel, 6th November, and was hosted by TV presenter Helen Skelton.

Special EFX was asked, once again, to manufacture the hand-blown glass spheres, which were then individually engraved in silver. Mark Norton, Senior Events and Training Executive at CIWM explains: “The Awards is a major event for the CIWM, which this year was supported by over 400 people from across the industry. The gala event endorses the CIWM’s privileged position as the voice of the industry and the beautifully crafted glass awards have become highly valued and help to maintain the CIWM’s profile and brand recognition”.
