Celebrating One of The Greatest Motorcycle Racers In History

Commissioning “a magnificent trophy that embodies the spirit and history of the sport.” is definitely something EFX can help with! The MCUI(UC) Michael Dunlop Award was created to honor Michael’s remarkable achievements at the Isle of Man TT races, which are famed for being one of the most challenging and exhilarating motorcycle races in the world.

This award commemorated not only Michael’s prowess as a rider but also his family legacy; his uncle, Joey Dunlop, was a legendary racer who held the record for the most wins (26!!) at the Isle of Man TT.
One lap of the Isle of Man TT circuit is an arduous 37.75 miles, whereas in comparison, many local national road races measure around 25 miles in length. The gruelling nature of the TT, with its sharp turns, mountain climbs, and unpredictable weather, makes it a true testament to the skill and endurance required from both the rider and the machine.

In 2024, Michael Dunlop not only equalled his uncle’s long-standing record but also surpassed it, achieving an astounding total of 29 wins. This triumph crowned him one of the greatest racers in the history of the sport and solidified his place in the annals of motorcycle racing.

Recognizing the significance of this milestone, the MCUI(UC), the governing body of motorcycle sport in Northern Ireland, felt it essential to commemorate Michael Dunlop’s record-breaking success. Thus, they commissioned a magnificent trophy that embodies the spirit and history of the sport.

Featuring the recognisable logo for the Isle of Man TT, the MCUI (UC) logo and a big bold 29, this trophy was the perfect choice for this celebration of sporting prowess. Created with a mix of high shine nickel plated solid aluminium, black anodised aluminium & orange acrylic, laser engraved & digitally printed. Michael was over the moon with his new award.

Michael was presented with the beautifully crafted trophy, a symbol of his hard work and dedication. In his acceptance speech,

Michael shared, “Throughout my career, I have received many incredible trophies, each representing a unique achievement. However, this particular award feels uniquely deserving of my efforts.
