Autosport Awards: Motorsport’s Night of Champions

For nearly four decades, the Autosport Awards have stood as one of the most respected and glamorous nights on the international motorsport calendar. So here at EFX, we were ecstatic to be able to create the trophies for such a prestigious event. This event brings together the biggest names in racing, rallying, and engineering; the ceremony celebrates achievement, innovation, and unforgettable moments from across the sport.

What began as a reader vote in the Autosport magazine in 1982 has grown into a star-studded celebration that honours both global champions and rising talents – reflecting the breadth and passion of the motorsport world. In 1988, the first official Autosport awards ceremony was held in London, attended by drivers, team principals, engineers, manufacturers, and motorsport legends – a trend that continues to this day.

This year marks the 38th annual ceremony of the Autosport Awards, which took place on 21st January 2026 at the Roundhouse in London, hosted by award-winning broadcaster Greg James, with a menu curated by Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge. It promised to be a special night, celebrating the standout performances and defining moments from the past season across all major motorsport disciplines, making it an event that spans the entire sport.

Oli, our Sales & Marketing Manager at EFX was thrilled to be working on this award – “At EFX we’re fortunate to work with many events on the world stage but for me, as a lifelong fan of Motorsport, The Autosport Awards are something that I’m particularly proud of both personally and professionally. From both a design and engineering viewpoint, to be able to showcase our interpretation of this famous award to some of the best engineers and creative minds in the world is a real privilege”

Won by many of the industry’s legends and contemporary stars, what sets the Autosport Awards apart is the mix of fan-voted honours and expert-selected accolades, combining the voice of motorsport followers with the judgment of journalists, motorsport specialists, and industry insiders.

An Evolution of Excellence

As the sport evolves, so do the awards — adding new categories to reflect media trends and fan culture, while always honouring the core values of competition, passion, and performance that define motorsport. This year’s award design has also evolved, featuring a four layered wing design top made from solid polished nickel plated aluminium and a sandwiched black anodised and red acrylic base with laser engraved winners’ details.

Legendary F1 figure Ross Brawn received the prestigious Autosport Gold Medal – recognising his lifetime contribution to the sport, from engineering championship-winning cars to helping shape modern Formula 1. This medal is a 24ct Gold Plated Aluminium & brass coin with raised ‘flag’ detailing to match the Autosport logo perfectly.

For drivers & other winners, winning an Autosport Award is not just another trophy; it is a mark of respect from both the motorsport community and the people who follow the sport passionately. In many ways, the Autosport Awards tell the story of modern motorsport – one season at a time.
