A Night in Wonderland For Hendy Group Winners

The biggest night in the calendar for automotive dealership Hendy Group, called for a theme to astound attendees! Hendy in Wonderland wowed guests at their awards night in Bournemouth, there to celebrate the hard work and achievements of their colleagues going above and beyond over the last twelve months. Hendy Group are the UK’s premier family motor group, representing 23 automotive brands across the South Coast and have a culture of excellence recognised in events like these.

This year’s theme was Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland with West End performers entertaining the guests at the drinks reception, performances from the woman of the moment Sophie Ellis Bextor, RPJ and the awards themselves were hosted by comedian Russell Kane. This year’s event was their largest yet with over 1,250 colleagues, suppliers and partners in attendance. It was a huge success with incredible feedback from guests.

Denfield, a marketing and events agency based locally to EFX have worked with Hendy on all of their events for many years and contacted us with the client’s brief of ‘something to WOW the winners’. & wow the winners they did! A spokesperson from the agency said the ‘awards were ‘just incredible’. The Hendy awards had such a weighty luxury feel a click and collect service was offered from the event for the winners to courier their awards home! The weight comes from a solid high shine polished and nickel plated aluminium award with a printed acrylic front finish. 

There were 12 x awards in total, including Team of the year, Site of the year, CEO award and HERO of the year (which is a non-work related recognition of that year). The winner of the Hero award was a colleague who ran two ultra-marathons for a local charity and their inspiring achievement was recognised on the night. Nominees were put forward by the line managers, then the winners were voted by the directors of the Hendy Group.
