Prince Harry Accepts Royal Tribute at Attitude Awards
Tom Daley, Olympic diving medallist and 2017 World Championships 10 metre platform winner, hosted the Attitude Awards 2017, held October 12 at London’s Roundhouse. The event was attended by a star-studded audience and commenced with the presentation of the Attitude Legacy Award to Prince Harry, in memory of his mother the late Diana, Princess of Wales. The award specifically honoured her achievements in challenging the stigma and fear surrounding HIV/Aids in the 1980s and 90s and the Elton John AIDS Foundation was the official charity for the evening.
Anodised gold and silver trophies
The 14 trophies for the event were custom-made by Special EFX. A bold ‘a’ for Attitude magazine, Europe’s leading gay magazine, was the theme for both the silver and gold trophies, which were finished in a contemporary, anodised finish for additional impact. Winners included Charli XCX (Music Award), who performed a rousing rendition of ‘Boys’ on the night, Nyle DiMarco (Man of the Year) the deaf actor, model and activist, Matt Lucas (Comedy Award) and Kylie Minogue (Icon Award).
