welcome

Awards and trophies made in glass have been popular for decades, with engraved rose bowls and decanters being the staple diet of many a corporate award's ceremony. However, they have become rather staid, dull and even a bit of a cliché. And we've been listening to our customers, who report that in today's media savvy business world, photogenic awards are a must, if you want to create memorable publicity shots and that transparent glass often does not come out looking great on photos.

In response, we have developed a complete new collection of attention-grabbing, glass designs featuring vividly coloured glass, intriguing surface decoration, novelty shapes and strong corporate branding options.

Special EFX promises to make your event memorable for all the right reasons.

Our in-house design team here at Ettington Park sometimes become a little…well, exuberant would be one way of putting it (and zany would be another!) Always on the look-out for those brain-dazzling new concepts, with which to amaze clients (and the rest of the office), this time they have been inspired by the spring/summer catwalks and decided that if full-on neon colours are dominating the fashion collections of Jil Sander and Christopher Kane, to name but two, then acid yellow, lime green and shocking pink will look equally stunning applied to awards and trophies.

So, if you want to be hot, retro, trendy and highly visible this summer, or need something to spice up your annual corporate awards presentations, then our design team will just love to create a fluoro award especially for you. But, be warned – your winners may need sunglasses!

It is an iconic design, recognised the world over and loved by millions. How a piece of packaging, a bottle, has become so famous is a story in itself, but what we can confirm is that it also makes a fabulous bespoke design for an award.

mcm productions created this retro-look trophy for the recent Oscas (Operations Supply-Chain Conference & Awards) for the global business Coca Cola Enterprises and Special EFX interpreted and made it in sleek, nickel-plated aluminum, capped with a gold-plated bottle top.

In 2007 Sir Digby Jones publicly denounced the excessive risk aversion in schools, which he claimed was creating a generation of “cotton wool kids”, who lacked the necessary leadership and entrepreneurial skills for industry. As President of HTI (Head Teachers and Industry), he launched the Go4it awards to encourage creativity, innovation and a positive attitude to risk.

This year
the Oscar styled awards are made by Special EFX and the first presentations to successful schools were made by Anne Evans, Chief Executive, and Noorzaman Rashid, Chairman of HTI, on board the Thames riverboat, The Symphony, Tuesday 29th March.

Further information about the Go4it awards and how local businesses can support their local schools is available at www.hti.org.uk
